Behind the Screens: Meet Carmen, Our Web Design Wonder

There are national days for doughnuts, llamas, and left-handers. So of course Web Designer Day exists, and we are absolutely celebrating. Why? Because without web designers, the internet would just be a blank white page whispering in Times New Roman, “Good luck.”

Today, we’re spotlighting our own resident digital stylist, Carmen. She’s the brain behind the beautifully strategic visuals on many of the websites we build at Liddleworks. A graphic designer with a special flair for web design, Carmen doesn’t just make things look good, she gives them a voice. A loud, proud, scroll-stopping one.

She Doesn’t Just Design, She Listens

Ask Carmen what she loves about her work, and you’ll quickly realize she’s not just pushing pixels. She’s listening. “Every project is a conversation,” she says. “I will do everything I can to bring out your best features but ultimately it is your voice that speaks to everyone, so feedback and dialogue go a long way.”

In other words: she’s not just here to design for you. She’s here to design with you. It’s not mind reading—it’s teamwork.

And we’d know because we get to collaborate with Carmen all the time. Her creativity, thoughtfulness, and killer eye for detail make her an essential part of Liddleworks. Honestly, we don’t know what we would do without her.

Figma Is Her Happy Place

Carmen’s ride-or-die? Figma. That’s where the visual alchemy happens. Grids, frames, gradients, neatly named layers (well, usually neatly named). If you’re not already using Figma, she might politely ask you why and then show you how it will change your life.

The Design World Is Getting Fun Again

Keeping up with design trends is like trying to nail Jell-O to a wall. But Carmen’s noticed one thing lately:  the pendulum is swinging back toward playfulness and the return of having fun with design. She’s all for the shift away from rigid grids and toward something a little more fluid. A little more human. And honestly, that tracks. Have you seen our latest projects?

Her Advice? Show Up Like You

When asked what she’d tell small business owners trying to grow their presence online, Carmen doesn’t hesitate: “Be authentic and vulnerable. Be open to putting yourself out there and make sure your online presence sounds and feels like how you and your business is offline”. She compares it to dating, and she’s not wrong. The algorithm might like a curated feed, but your audience connects with you.

Also, don’t sleep on a well-designed website. (We may be biased, but we’re also right.)

Her Work Vibes? Lo-fi to John Wick

Depends on the day. If the vibes are chill, it’s lo-fi and slowed-down remixes. If a deadline’s looming and adrenaline is needed, Carmen’s got the John Wick soundtrack queued up. That’s right! Design under pressure, powered by cinematic chaos.
